Procurement Expert Content Management - EMEA

In our Source to Pay (S2P) organization, we are looking for a Senior Expert for the role of Procurement System Content Manager for the region EMEA. Your purpose in this role is to provide the best buying experience within Bayer by translating the global procurement strategies into system content, to increase the operational efficiencies, to avoid value leakages and to generate cash flow by analyses on the current system content for the Direct process in Procurement. As a Content Manager, you are the connection between the Category Managers & Sourcers and our Operational teams in the SSCs; you ensure that their category strategy and agreements are reflected in an optimal way on the purchasing platforms and ERP systems in Bayer, ensuring a streamlined buying experience and continuous business operations.
Major tasks and responsibilities
- Advise category managers and sourcers about the optimal way to reflect their contracts into system content.
- Receive, manage, and safeguard the quality of content creation requests to SSC Teams.
- Analyses of manually created Purchase orders (PO) with the objective to increase PO automation by the creation of ERP system contracts and Guided Buying catalogues.
- Analyses and follow-up of system contract’s expiration (Quantity, Value and time) ensuring automation and avoiding business interruptions.
- Be the first contact point for Category Managers and our sourcing service provider (GEP) for content and operational related questions advising them, channeling, and solving issues.
- Proactively engage with Category Managers, Sourcing, Global content Management and Governance & Enabling with the final objective to understand their needs and to convert these needs into value added services of our Content Management portfolio.
- Proactively providing of and cooperation with stakeholders on initiatives to avoid value leakage (e.g. Payment Terms, Preferred supplier usage) .
- Support process transformational projects to ensure that the Procurement Organization is driving change and following best practices.
- Through data insights, deep process knowledge and by challenging the status quo, define and implement procedures that reduce the workload for everybody wherever possible.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with Procurement guidelines, as well as other internal/external process standards and the delivery of business performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Governance & Enablement function and the Content Management Network to provide continuous feedback on opportunities for automation.
- Oversee EMEA regional content specifics for the Cropscience, Enabling Functions or Marketing & Sales Purchasing Area.
Work relations
The candidate will closely collaborate with our internal stakeholders, such as the Governance and Enablement Team, Category managers and Sourcers, the Functional Leadership Team and the Content Managers of other regions in the Shared Service Center Delivery Network. He/she will also work with our external stakeholders, such as GEP, the suppliers and the outsourcing corporations working for Bayer.
Education, experience, and skills
- University degree or equivalent with focus on Administration/Economics or equivalent progressive working experience in Procurement of 5 years.
- In-depth knowledge of Procurement and/or Source to Pay processes.
- Fluent English skills in both the spoken and written form.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
- Expert knowledge of relevant computer/system tools and process (SAP ERP, SAP Ariba).
- Strong analytical skills in programs such as Excel, Tableau and Analyses for Office.
- Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders whilst taking joint strategic decisions as one team.
- Ability to work in changing environments, to challenge the status quo and to support change in a complex organization.
- Strong collaborator, pragmatic, result-oriented and accountable.
- Experience in Sourcing category and/or procurement/supply chain functions is preferred.
- Experience in automation projects with technologies such as UiPath and similar preferred.
- Knowledge about Data.one, PowerQuery, PowerBI and other analytics programs is preferred
